Local Love.

We noticed some activity on our social media accounts this past evening, and soon learned that Portland's beloved Stumptown Roasters has just been acquired by Peet's Coffee. Many a sad Stumptown loyalist is reeling right now. Meanwhile, journalists are pointing out that the niche hipster roaster brand has been majority-owned by a NYC-based private equity firm, TSG Consumer Partners, for... well... quite some time now and had plans in the works to sell off the brand.

We're happy to report that we have no plans for acquisition by any private equity firms, nor are we plotting covert M&As with global corporations. We're quite happy roasting for you guys, and honored to be a part of our local and global communities.

In the wake of the news, we are hopeful that the baffled Stumptown loyalists out there will recover quickly, and take a moment to explore the quality local and micro-roasters in their own back yards. In solidarity with local and independent roasters of delicious coffee beans everywhere, we're offering our friends and family 15% off single-origin coffees and espresso on our site through October 12. Just use promo code LocalLove

We think you will be able to sniff out some favorites from amongst our current selection of beans
